Last 5 Years RBI Phase 1 Analysis - Quant

Approach and Analysis

 

In our discussions and interactions with successful candidates across various examinations, the one thing common among all of them is that they analyzed the previous years questions very thoroughly. The ones who cleared the exam in a very short time started with analysis of previous papers.


We have tried to do the same in this document. We have analyzed the last five papers of RBI grade B Exam Phase 1 Quant from 2023 to 2019.


Here is an analysis of the quantitative aptitude section. One can use this to understand the demands of the exam, understand which topics are most important and plan their preparation accordingly.

Conclusions


1. Ratio and Percentage hold the highest weightage in Quant section, prepare them well.

2. Profit and loss comes at a close second, has to be prepared well.

3. Both Percentage and Profit and Loss are relatively simple topics and can be prepared thoroughly in 15 days from scratch. Do them well and practice a lot of questions.

4. Probability hasn’t been asked since 2021, but was asked in 2019 and 2020, so brush through it fast. Just the basics should be sorted.

5. Finish topics in this order

a. Algebra- Because it forms the base of all operations.

b. Ratio

c. Percentage

d. Profit and Loss

e. Quadratic Equations

f. Number Series

And so on and so forth.

6. Practice is key. One can easily target 25+ marks in Quant just by focusing on the right topics.
